In a communication to the Cabinet Secretary, EC said that it had been informed about a letter circulated to ministries for nomination of senior officers as ‘District Rath Praharis’. EC highlighted that it declared poll schedules for Chhattisgarh, MP, Mizoram, Rajasthan and Telangana assemblies and byelection to 43-Tapi (ST) assembly constituency of Nagaland on October 9 and the model code of conduct came into force from the date of announcement till December 5.
