Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge criticised the central agencies, including the Enforcement Directorate (ED), CBI, and the Income Tax Department, referring to them as “jawans” or soldiers of PM Narendra Modi. Kharge accused the PM of deploying these agencies to target the opposition before hitting the campaign trail. Speaking at a rally in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, ahead of the November 25 assembly polls, Kharge also alleged that Modi’s focus on the poor is only apparent during election times.
