Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was issued a show-cause notice by the Election Commission for allegedly targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi with words like “panauti” and “pickpocket”. BJP appealed, claiming Gandhi’s language was “unbecoming” of a high-ranking official. The EC reminded Gandhi that it is against the Model Code of Conduct for leaders to level unfounded accusations against political opponents.
