The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty are likely to open in red on Wednesday tracking SGX Nifty and global markets.
At 8.34 am (IST), SGX Nifty was down 14.50 points at 8,230.50.
Asian stocks slipped on Wednesday, taking cues from an overnight decline on Wall Street and capped by caution ahead of a policy statement from the US Federal Reserve due later in the day.
Shanghai and Hang Seng were down 0.09 per cent and 0.49 per cent at 3,431 and 23,028, respectively.
On Wall Street, the Dow fell 0.2 per cent and the S&P 500 retreated 0.3 per cent.
Back home, benchmark indices fell for the second consecutive session on Tuesday. Sensex closed 108.52 points, or 0.40 per cent, down at 27,253.44 while Nifty closed 27.65 points, or 0.33 per cent, down at 8,232.90.
Dabur, TRF, Indian Hume Pipe, Nelco, Greenply, Ambuja Cements, Shanti Gears, JSW Energy, Tata Elxsi, Torrent Power, Syndicate Bank, Just Dial and ABCIL are some of companies which may announce their earnings on Wednesday.
