Former Chief Minister and BSP chief Mayawati has named her nephew Akash Anand as her successor at the BSP’s all-India meeting in Lucknow. Mayawati’s concern is to revive the party’s old support base in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. Akash, BSP’s national coordinator, will continue to strengthen the party’s support base in other states.
