Maratha leader Manoj Jarange Patil has declared another indefinite fast for Maratha reservations, this time in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park Dadar starting January 20. Addressing a Maratha rally in Beed, he warned the government to resolve the reservation issue by the deadline, asserting that 3 crore Maratha community members would participate. Patil insisted on recognizing the wife’s caste for reservations, but the government, represented by MLA Bachchu Kadu, maintained the legal stance that only the father’s caste is recognized.
