On Monday, Sharad Pawar, founder of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), responded to his nephew Ajit Pawar’s recent comments about the 1978 political move led by Sharad Pawar against then Maharashtra Chief Minister Vasantdada Patil. Sharad Pawar clarified that the 1978 move was not a rebellion but a decision made through mutual consultation, where he walked out of the government with 40 MLAs, leading to the collapse of the Patil dispensation.
