Congress has criticized the Modi government for implementing the Aadhaar-based payment system for MGNREGA workers, claiming it is weaponizing technology to deny vulnerable Indians their social welfare benefits. Congress General Secretary (Communications) Jairam Ramesh alleged that the government is continuing with destructive experiments with technology, such as the ABPS, drone monitoring, and facial recognition integration.
