In a defamation case against AAP leader Sanjay Singh, a court directed him to pay Rs 1 lakh in damages to former Uttar Pradesh minister Mahendra Kumar Singh. The court, proceeding ex parte as Sanjay Singh didn’t respond to the notice, held him responsible for defaming Mahendra Kumar Singh during a 2021 press conference, alleging corruption in the Jal Jeevan Mission implementation. Additionally, the AAP leader was instructed to remove the defamatory content from social media platforms.
