The BJP launched a state-wide campaign in Karnataka, urging MLAs and former ministers to seek arrest for alleged involvement in the 1992 Ayodhya temple movement. The party shifted its focus to paint the ruling Congress as anti-Hindu after the arrest of ‘kar sevak’ Srikant Poojari. The BJP rejected the government’s explanation that the arrests were part of a routine exercise to dispose of old cases.
