Union Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized the importance of reviving ‘gurukuls’ to counter the impact of Lord Macaulay’s system of education on Indian minds. Singh stated that Macaulay was sent to India to enslave the population mentally, and the traditional education system needed to be revived.
