A video of monks being attacked by a mob in Purulia has sparked a political row in West Bengal. The BJP accuses the state of a collapse in law and order, while the TMC claims the BJP is trying to give a communal twist to the incident. The Purulia Police stated that the incident resulted from a misunderstanding between the monks and local girls. Twelve people have been arrested, and the police deny any communal overtone.
