Protests by BJP-JD(S) workers in Karnataka intensify after the removal of a saffron flag bearing Lord Hanuman’s portrait from a flag post. Section 144 has been imposed in the village and police personnel have been deployed. BJP leaders and workers are holding protests in all district headquarters of the state. The flagpole in Mandya has been barricaded and CCTV cameras installed for security. Most shops and establishments are closed due to a voluntary shutdown called by protesters.
