The Congress party criticized the Indian government over a report by Child rights NGO CRY, which stated that child rape cases increased by 96% from 2016 to 2022. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh claimed that even children are not safe in the “anyay kaal” (period of injustice) under the Modi government.
