Budget session from today; Oppn MPs’ suspension set to be revoked
The government has requested the revocation of suspensions for MPs ahead of Parliament's budget session, aiming for smooth proceedings. The session, commencing with President Droupadi Murmu's address, will feature the interim budget presentation by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The government's appeal for lifting suspensions was conveyed during an all-party meeting, signaling an effort to foster cooperation during the session. The Rajya Sabha's privilege committee has recommended revoking the suspension of 11 MPs, addressing concerns related to the breach of privilege. The session will run until February 9.
