Champai Soren, a four-time MLA and senior JMM (Jharkhand Mukti Morcha) minister, has been elected the legislative party leader of the ruling coalition in Jharkhand. This development comes after the resignation of Hemant Soren as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand. Champai Soren, known as a close aide of Shibu Soren, is the current Minister of Transport and also oversees the portfolios of ST, SC, and Backward Class welfare. The decision was made during a joint meeting of JMM and Congress MLAs, with Champai Soren set to take the oath as the new Chief Minister.
