West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced that her government will transfer funds to the bank accounts of 21 lakh unpaid MGNREGA workers in the state by February 21. She demanded the Centre release “unpaid dues” for various social welfare schemes during a 48-hour-dharna. Banerjee also stated that her party, TMC, will strongly oppose the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
