Protests erupted in Sandeshkhali, North 24 Parganas district, against Trinamool leader Sheikh Shahjahan’s alleged torture. Locals demanded his arrest in the ration allotment scam as the ED issued him summons. The protest, led by women, claimed encroachment of agricultural land and police intervention was required.
