Former Congress leader Ashok Chavan joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), citing his admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s work. Chavan, who resigned from Congress and as an MLA, stated he wanted to contribute to developmental activities. BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis welcomed him, claiming more opposition leaders were in touch with the BJP.
