The Samajwadi Party (SP) has nominated Ramjilal Suman, Jaya Bachchan, and Alok Ranjan for the Rajya Sabha in Uttar Pradesh. With increased strength in the Uttar Pradesh assembly, the SP can send three members, as it has 108 MLAs, while the Congress has two. Suman belongs to the PDA, while Bachchan is from a famous family.
