Stock Market Live Updates: Asian stocks rise as Wall Street rally overshadows weak U.S. retail sales
Sensex, Nifty, Share Prices LIVE: Asian stocks opened higher on Friday, following the positive trend on Wall Street, despite the worse-than-expected U.S. retail sales data. Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose by 1.75%, South Korea’s KOSPI increased by 0.56%, and Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.38%. On Thursday, U.S. stocks closed higher, with the S&P 500 up by 0.58%, the Nasdaq Composite increasing by 0.30%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbing 0.91%, despite the 0.8% retail sales drop in January that was primarily from auto dealerships and gasoline stations. Investors remained optimistic and less concerned about earlier inflation data that had caused a temporary dip in the market.
