BJP president J P Nadda and three other party candidates were announced as elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Gujarat. With four vacant Rajya Sabha seats in the state and an equal number of candidates, all from the ruling BJP, having filed their nomination papers, the uncontested victory was confirmed.
