Ashok Chavan, former Maharashtra Chief Minister, has been upgraded to ‘Y-plus’ security cover by the state police due to a ‘threat perception’. The upgrade includes two security personnel. Chavan joined the ruling BJP after quitting Congress and was elected unopposed in the Rajya Sabha election.
