A committee led by PM Narendra Modi, with Opposition leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and Union law minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, appointed Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu as election commissioners, as confirmed by Chowdhury. The selection committee met under PM Modi’s leadership to finalize the appointments.
