Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has criticized the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in Assam, stating that it will provide citizenship to a small number of people in the state. In the last four days, no single person from Assam has applied for citizenship through the National Register of Citizens (NRC), which has a cut off date of 2014.
