The upcoming general election in Uttar Pradesh could bring surprising results, especially with the SP-BSP alliance replaced by the SP-Congress pact under the INDIA bloc. In 2019, the BJP and allies won 73 out of 80 Lok Sabha seats, with the opposition parties winning only 16. Despite some anti-incumbency sentiments, the saffron party dominated in 2019, winning 62 seats, with additional wins by ally Apna Dal (Sonelal). The western part of UP was a stronghold for the BJP, while the central region includes Congress bastions like Amethi and Rae Bareli.
