The leader is accused in a massive corruption case linked to the housing scheme and the rural jobs scheme. He was associated with the Bodoland-based United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL). UPPL is an ally of BJP in Assam and is running the sixth schedule council of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC).
