Both the ruling NDA and the opposition INDIA bloc are aiming to boost voter turnout in the second phase of the general election following low turnout in the first phase in Bihar. The second phase on April 26 covers five Lok Sabha constituencies in the Seemanchal region – Katihar, Kishanganj, Purnia, Bhagalpur, and Banka. The NDA’s JD (U) is contesting all five seats, while the Congress is contesting three and the RJD two. The BJP, though not contesting, is actively working to increase turnout, deploying workers and senior leaders for voter outreach.
