Despite currently being out on bail, Kashyap decided to align himself with the ruling party and made his entry official on Thursday in a ceremony attended by key BJP figures such as Anil Baluni, Sanjay Mayukh, and Manoj Tiwari in the national capital. Kashyap cited his admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a primary reason for joining the BJP, expressing his desire to work under Modi’s leadership. His mother, who supported him throughout his legal troubles, also played a role in his decision to join the party.
