​Congress veteran Anand Sharma, who is contesting from Kangra parliamentary constituency, is surprising many within the state unit. The local leaders were skeptical whether Sharma would be able to connect with the masses as he was contesting his first Lok Sabha election. Campaigning tirelessly, Sharma is using the local dialect every time he is addressing meetings. This is quite a feat in a state where they say cuisine and dialect changes every 10 km.
