The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has filed a complaint with the Election Commission (EC) against BJP’s Ghatal Lok Sabha candidate Hiranmoy Chattopadhyaya. He has been accused of providing false information about his educational qualifications in his affidavit and falsely claiming to be a research fellow at IIT Kharagpur,. There are calls for the cancellation of his candidature. Chattopadhyaya denied the allegations and accused the Trinamool Congress of conspiracy. The Election Commission is reviewing the complaint.
