Kerala’s first BJP MP, Suresh Gopi, expressed his desire to step down as MoS and focus on his role as an MP in Kerala, aiming to expand the BJP’s presence in the southern region. Gopi emphasised the importance of implementing projects for Kerala’s welfare and stated that he was following the directives of his national leaders. His victory marked the BJP’s first win in Kerala post-independence.
