Assam: Congress’ Rakibul Hussain, who won Lok Sabha polls with record margin, resigns as MLA

Congress leader Rakibul Hussain, elected to Lok Sabha with highest victory margin, resigned from Assam assembly. He handed over resignation letter to Speaker in presence of Congress leaders. The MP-elect from Dhubri bid farewell by Congress legislature party. He is a five-time legislator from Samaguri. He expressed mixed emotions stepping into Lok Sabha and thanked constituents for support. Congress retained three seats in Assam, while BJP won nine seats.
