During the 2024 Indian General Elections, the Indian Air Force (IAF) played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth conduct of polling, particularly in remote and security-sensitive areas. The IAF’s operations included airlifting electronic voting machines (EVMs) and Election Commission of India (ECI) personnel across the country. Over five phases of the elections, IAF helicopters and aircraft conducted more than 1,750 sorties, flying over 1,000 hours to support the democratic process.
