Parliament statues relocated to ensure they are not in prominent place for MPs to protest: Congress
The Congress has claimed that relocating statues of Mahatma Gandhi, B R Ambedkar, and Chhatrapati Shivaji within Parliament aims to prevent MPs from conducting peaceful protests. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh shared a circular stating the statues will be moved to a newly created 'Prerna Sthal'. The Lok Sabha Secretariat said the relocation ensures visitors can conveniently view the statues. Ramesh argued the move intends to keep the statues away from prominent protest sites, criticizing it as a tactic to stifle opposition.
