Out of 1,762 stocks traded on the NSE, 671 declined and 844 advanced today. The India VIX (Volatility) index was up 7.40% to 17.07. The NSE Nifty opened at 7,869 hitting a high of 7,878 and low of 7,825, before ending with a loss of mere seven points at 7,849.
