In Haridwar, white screens were recently installed by in front of mosques and mazars along the Kanwar Yatra route ‘to prevent trouble’. Both local residents and kanwariyas criticized the move, calling it unnecessary. Authorities clarified they were not responsible and the screens were hastily removed by special police officers and volunteers after the news spread.
