Former BJP Scheduled Caste Morch chief Sanjay Paswan supported the Supreme Court’s decision allowing sub-groups in the SC reservation but called for discussions to ensure distributive justice. He advocated for a “quota within quota.” Paswan believes that sub-categorisation should be based on family rather than overall Dalit caste. He suggested limiting reservations to families benefiting for up to three generations to prevent unfair advantages and promote equality.
