Karnataka Deputy CM D K Shivakumar confirmed that the Congress government’s ‘guarantee schemes’ would remain unchanged. He acknowledged complaints about higher-income individuals availing the benefits and said a review would take place. Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi advocated for limiting benefits to economically weaker sections. The government allocated Rs 52,000 crore for these schemes in 2024-25.
