List of world’s best hospitals. For a hospital, should the goal be to be one of the best hospitals in the world or should a hospital worry about profitability growth, expansion, etc? If they are able to gain reputation, best doctors will want to work there, which would attract more patients.
I guess the real problem is not lack of patronage but maintaining and improving quality in terms of treatment outcomes. Scaling is important too as it helps in acquiring resources to improve the quality but hopefully not at the cost of quality. Let’s hope they don’t spread themselves too thin by this expansion.
