The combined market valuation of top eight Sensex companies rose by Rs 31,922 crore last week, with RIL emerging as the biggest gainer.
Barring TCS and ITC in the top 10 companies by market capitalisation, eight saw rise in m-cap in a positive broader market trend wherein the BSE benchmark Sensex gained 259.71 points to end the last week at 26,128.20.
RIL’s m-cap surged Rs 10,721.28 crore to Rs 3,17,120.03 crore, making the biggest gain among the top-10 firms.
SBI’s market valuation climbed Rs 5,084.62 crore to Rs 1,93,720.10 crore and HDFC added Rs 4,143.13 crore to Rs 1,94,125.23 crore.
The market cap of Sun Pharma soared by Rs 3,236.65 crore to Rs 1,78,064.25 crore and that of Infosys jumped Rs 3,077.91 crore to Rs 2,44,923.21 crore.
HDFC Bank’s valuation went up by Rs 2,457.71 crore to Rs 2,71,897.62 crore and CIL saw a rise of Rs 1,831.74 crore to Rs 2,12,387.75 crore.
Similarly, the m-cap of ONGC advanced by Rs 1,368.88 crore to Rs 2,01,267.91 crore.
In contrast, TCS’s valuation slumped by Rs 8,453.14 crore to Rs 4,63,572.73 crore and ITC lost Rs 361.3 crore to Rs 2,76,152.12 crore.
The top-10 most valued companies list stood as TCS, RIL, ITC, HDFC Bank, Infosys, CIL, ONGC, HDFC, SBI and Sun Pharma.
