AMD has planned to acquire ZT Systems for $4.9 billion to strengthen its AI chip offerings and compete with Nvidia. The deal includes using cash and stock for the purchase and aims to enhance AMD’s ability to test and launch AI GPUs. The acquisition is anticipated to close by mid-2025.
