Maharashtra minister Deepak Kesarkar stated that his comments on the collapse of Chhatrapati Shivaji’s statue were misconstrued and demanded the erection of a 100-foot structure at the same spot. The 35-foot statue, unveiled by PM Modi last year, collapsed recently, causing political controversy and leading the opposition to call for CM Eknath Shinde’s resignation.
