The Center has disputed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s claims regarding fast track special courts for rape cases. Union Minister Annapurna Devi clarified that the state has not operationalized additional Fast Track Special Courts dedicated to rape and POCSO cases, despite a significant backlog. She urged the state to fully implement central legislation for better handling of cases.
