Union Home Minister Amit Shah will kick off the BJP’s campaign for the Jammu & Kashmir Assembly elections with a two-day visit starting Friday, where he will release the party’s manifesto. The visit comes amid growing discontent within the BJP, with several leaders leaving after being denied election tickets. Shah will also address party leaders and workers during his visit, and preparations for the campaign are underway with heavy security. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to join the campaign later in September.
