In a surprising move on Sunday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced he will resign in two days, following his recent bail in a corruption case related to Delhi’s scrapped liquor policy. Kejriwal stated he will only return to the Chief Minister’s role if the public gives him a “certificate of honesty” through their vote, and he is advocating for early elections in Delhi, aligning them with those in Maharashtra. The Supreme Court’s bail conditions include barring him from entering the Chief Minister’s office or signing official documents, which BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla criticized as leaving Kejriwal with a largely ceremonial role.
