The Mahayuti alliance clinched a resounding victory in the 2024 Maharashtra assembly elections, securing 231 out of 288 seats. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde hailed the win as “record-breaking” and thanked voters and Prime Minister Modi for their support. A legislative party meeting will be held to reaffirm Shinde’s leadership. Deputy CMs Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar emphasised the coalition’s legitimacy. Celebrations followed at BJP offices, while the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi trailed significantly, winning just 50 seats.
