Renewable Energy finds a new Suitor-Booming Data Centers,AI
You would be wondering what renewable energy has to do with data center & AI.
The answer is yes – the Global mandate is that data centers has to run on Green energy ! intersting indeed ? But why ? can it not run on normal electricity produced by Coal ? yes it can, but there is a hitch here.!
The demand for Data centers is increasing day by day, due to the ever increasing demand for data storage , thanks to boom in AI.
Data centers are energy intensive as it needs a lot of power for cooling and ventilation apart from running the servers. Normally we use electric energy for productive purpose such as operating factories , machinery , for cooking food , operating Home appliances, driving a vehicle (EV) or a train (electric)… But if electric energy is to be used to cool data centers, it is seen as energy wastage – but a necessity devil.
Due to the data center boom &:AI, It is estimated that there is an incremental energy demand which currently stands at 3% of total energy production at Global level which is set to increase to 8% by 2030.
Already , the world is fighting with Global warming / climate change with all out efforts in decarbonising by getting rid of fossil fuels and resorting to renewable energy.
So it makes sense that the ever increasing data center boom which demands additional energy requirement should run sustainably with renewable energy and the global mandate is very clear- so the demand for more sustainable renewable energy further increasing.
India is said to be the land for cheaper sources of renewable energy and building data centers in India is less by 30-40% than elsewhere in the world and hence the world is looking up to India for data centers.
Aavas Financiers :: Banking on the unbanked (04-07-2024)
So since they own a combined 26.47 percent stake, selling this stake would necessitate an open offer to acquire another 26 percent from public shareholders. Was reading up on this SEBI rule and this is done to ensure that public shareholders have a fair opportunity to exit the company during substantial ownership changes, protecting the interests of minority shareholders. So if this goes through, will the new entity do a buy back? Does anyone know how this works and what is the potential impact during such scenarios?

INVESTING AS A HIGHWAY
Indian Defense Sector (04-07-2024)
Thanks to Mr Basu Mallick who initiated this thread in May 2022. After going through his first introductory post which was an inspiration for me to start my investment journey in Defence stocks.
Those starting points of Basu mallick in 2022 are stilll valid today and if we see the financial performance of defence companies, the Govt seems to have walked the talk -the FDI automatic route, defence acquisition council, Atma nirbhar Bharat, Exports potential to name a few- all are playing out very well…And it is not only the PSU defence companies – even the Pvt corporates both Large and MSME’s engaged in defence sector are doing well.
The recent announcement of extending custom duty extension for 5 years for import of parts / components for defence equipment manufacturing for next 5 years is another incentive for increasing output of defence equipments.
And recently the govt giving a export target of 50k crore for defence sector, where we have just 1% market share in international defence market which is currently dominated by developed countries.
Apart from exports contribution from HAL & BEL, Bharat dynamics , now all 3 defence shipping companies are targetting building of commercial ships for exports which has huge potential as western countries are looking for replacing their ailing fleet with new generation ships to run on cleaner fuel like green hydrogen, Ammonia, methanol etc.
Here is a you tube presentation from equity masters on shipping stocks.Tanushree of equity masters gives a warning on Pvt shipping stocks.
