I’m at a failure to understand why there can’t be more transparency in this process with clear reasons for removal. Just because someone thinks something is “offensive or requires further examination” doesn’t mean that moderators do not execute their responsibility to properly examine the issue at hand.

Although we may have gotten the No. of days per voyage calculation wrong, as travel to eastern part of country will take much longer, plus one needs to take into account the days spent for loading and unloading as well so the number would be much higher. But yes point taken that they do utilize idle capacity for 3rd party chartering etc, especially on way to pick up Bitumen.

It’s been 4 months since my distilled analysis. The price has largely stabilized though not yet at 5500 levels but much above the depths of 3600. It’s too early to predict future but it is time to remind ourselves of a few points.

Never say no one will buy or get into moral pontification. Example: A student copied in the exam. It is both morally and ethically wrong. The max that can happen is debar as per our law. You can not hang the kid for it.

Scandals always happen in all the economies. Our job as analysts is to estimate the impact and buy if the fall is reversible.

Some Investors may be offended by the above. I would like to remind what Warren Buffett did during Amex salad oil scam. He calculated rationally and bought a huge chunk of Amex. Not taught Amex on how to be ethical.

There will be some Investors who will sell at that time it’s their prerogative, but don’t get influenced. Take your decision on its merits.

Experiment with Momentum (05-04-2024)
So how do we define momentum? If we have to define momentum, even for ourselves, how do we do that? There has to be some criteria, some quantitative definition, even just for ourselves. And if such quantitative systems are created, many do back tests for these systems. TA can be added as another layer to these systems, we can reject or allocate more based on the charts, this is discretion, but it can help. I personally don’t buy at ATHs, because I have no fundamental knowledge of these companies, so I don’t know if price can go above or not, my TA understanding cannot help here.
We do what works for us, and if we are making profit, and even if we cannot explain lucidly about our process, but if we are doing it for a while, and are in profits, and if we are reasonably confident that we can continue doing it for extended periods, I guess then all is good, and this can be called as an edge too. And all of this evolves with time, as we gain new knowledge, understanding and modifications, also creating new things.
Just like investing, this is a journey too, but unlike investing which is called as boring by some, this is very exciting, so there is that
And I am sure you cannot deny this thread, go through it again, even if you have read it before, you will definitely gain many insights, if you want to experiment or try.
