How do you pick stocks for SIP & decide SIP duration (20-03-2024)
Someone introduced me to the concept of SIP in stocks and now I think i can beat index funds by this method. I saw a number of posts about investors saying that they accumulate a particular stock via SIP. How do you pick the stocks for SIP? I am sure there are a number of ways.
Once picked, how do you decide if the SIP should be weekly/monthly/bi-monthly? Lets discuss!

Commodity and Cyclical Plays (20-03-2024)
US /Europe are the major market for many of them. If US/Europe gets into recession or inflation does not come down, demand will be weak. These companies may underperform for longer than expected . Request views of senior members on this .

SmallCap Hunter : Trying to find the dark horses with triggers (20-03-2024)
Okay so I see Lot of People here some are just blaming smallcaps and midcaps only because they missed it, and They were just invested in Largecaps and bunch of blue-chips on the other side some are supporting Smallcaps and Midcaps only Because they were Invested in Small and Midcaps which made them crazy Returns last Year.
But leaving This aside let’s look at some facts
The EPS of smallcaps which used to Be around 340rs has increased by more than 50% to be around 520rs in These Last Two Years.
And For Midcaps The EPS has Gone up by 65%+ From 390 Rs to 660 Rs.
So when Earnings Grow Why shouldn’t the stock move up??
The P/E of Small caps was around 26 which has risen to 28 which is not much to consider it as bubble valuation
And same with Midcaps as well P/E remains almost same.
So I personally beleive that this price growth Is real w.r.t earnings Growth and is not valuation Bubble and one should use This fall to increase Their allocation in High conviction stocks.
But I also understand The point That there are numerous companies Where Stock price Rised despite of Their bad earnings growth and definitely they will get butchered.
So I believe The conclusion is to Hunt for good Companies showing Growth With Their Numbers.

Hitesh portfolio (20-03-2024)
@manhar You may also want to visit this blog post on Indo Count Industries, particularly the section on conversion of warrants by promoters.
In essence, the promoters picked up shares of their company at 3.5 bucks in 2013, at the expense of diluting minority shareholders.
The stock then went to hit a high of ₹242 by 2016 before tanking to ₹32 by 2019
For minority shareholders who kept an eye on the business, ignoring promoter actions, still ended up making a 40+ bagger in between because the co kept delivering outstanding results YoY.
This example is hindsight biased and to be construed as an exception rather than a rule because there are far more examples out there wherein investors lost money by ignoring promoter issues. That being said, there were people out there who actually made good money from this stock. Here’s an example.
Perhaps when to focus more on the management and when to focus more on fundamentals is what makes this game interesting
